PRETTY IN PASTEL

The pastel beauty trend has been here for a while and I have a feeling it's still got some more staying power left in it. I, myself, who has been pretty devoted to being a blonde for the past decade, am even finding myself tempted to shake things up and add a little tint of color. Every time I see a new celeb giving muted hues a go, I feel a little nudge to take the plunge.

What I like about this trend is that it doesn't seem as intimidating as some other, bolder styles. It almost seems to be a baby step along the spectrum of hair colors. And this baby step is something I can get on board with. We've seen stars like Nicole Richie, Katy Perry, Rhianna, and of course Pink rocking some of the pastel colors of the rainbow and now we are seeing more and more people of all walks of life choosing to go pastel as well and I am loving it.

Similar to a post I did a couple days ago about nude nail polish colors, I think no matter what time of year, pastel works. It's not just for Easter egg hunting or the next My Little Pony convention. It works paired with bright springtime colors and can look ultra-chic with a sleek black leather jacket in fall.

Often times, we stick to what we are used to. We get in beauty routines because we feel safe and confident in what we've been doing. But every once in a while, it's fun to switch it up a little! While maybe the pastel colored eyebrows are a little much for the every-day routine, I do think it never hurts to add a little splash of color here and there, and doing so in your eyeshadow colors could be just the trick. If you are not ready to commit to coloring your hair, adding a lavender shadow or a sea-foam green eyeliner could be a way to try out the pastel trend before fully committing and spending loads of money on a dye job.

Alrighty, so maybe the next time you see me, I'll be rockin some rosey pink locks, but until then, have a colorful day!
