HEY THERE, STUD!

I have never been a huge earring wearer. Which is kind of ironic because my mother has always worn earrings, mainly hoops and dangling styles. She is someone who feels 'naked' without them. That, however, did not rub off on me. To this day, she will not let me live down the fact that I have still never worn a pair of huge white drop earrings she got me about 7 years ago. Sorry mom :)

I will say, though, that I have changed my tune regarding earrings within the last year or so. While I'm still not off filling my accessory collection with hoops or drop style earrings, I have become a total fan of stud earrings! Here's why I have fallen in love with studs...

A / There are so many playful, quirky designs that give you the opportunity to add a subtle punch of humor to your look. It's not a bitch slap to the face kind of hit, but rather a love tap. Because of the typically small scale of stud earrings, sometimes it takes someone a second glance at your earrings to notice that yes, you are indeed wearing a jewel encrusted slice of lemon on your ears. Some of my favorite playful studs are the ones in clever duos, like the "That's" & "Bananas" (shown above).

B / Stud earrings are a great way to add a finishing touch to your look on days when you might otherwise feel a little lazy in the beauty department. Maybe you've had a night where you've had a few too many glasses of wine and you kind of just want to roll out of bed and throw your hair in a top knot. No problem! Throw on a pair of sparkly studs and no one will question your wine stained lips.

C / I love a fun, bold, statement necklace! Stud earrings are a great way to complete your accessory look but not steal the show, letting your necklace shine.
