BOOTIES FROM THE BLOCK
While the summer weather might provide warmth, color and light, there is no doubt that fall is my favorite fashion season. Goodbye flip flops and tanks. Bring on the layers and textures! And with this fall fashion comes an onslaught of boots of varying styles. Yay! From thigh-highs, to ankle boots there is something out there for everyone.
I, myself, usually opt for a flatter heel, simply out of pure comfort, but that doesn't mean I don't still drool over footwear with a more elevated rear end. Right now, I'm really drawn to all the block heeled booties I'm seeing around. We often see the details of boots spent on the vamp / upper part of the boot, but with a lot of the block heel styles now we are seeing some of the attention being drawn to the heel and allowing it to shine. What I also love about the block heel is that it gives a more sturdy, grounded feel to a boot as opposed to a thinner stiletto style. There are so many stylish varieties that each have their own unique twists and flavor to them. I am particularly fond of the styles that really play up the heel by incorporating different materials such as acrylic, metals or quilted textures.
